This session will cover various tips and tricks for using Zoom for instruction from within a remote-capable classroom. We’ll dive into some of the settings and options available to get the most out of Zoom in a classroom setting.
Thursday 9/2: Creating Inclusive Classrooms with Jae Basiliere
This session will introduce the work of creating inclusive classroom environments for students, both online and in-seat. Participants will learn about some of the barriers that prevent students from feeling fully welcomed in the classroom environment and discuss strategies for removing those barriers. This session is appropriate for those new to inclusive teaching as well as those with existing expertise!

Tony Harris, CCV’s Director of Academic Technology, will provide an overview of OneNote, Microsoft’s digital note-taking app, included in Office 365 that provides a single place for keeping notes, research, plans, and more, along with OneNote ClassNotebook, an advanced version of OneNote designed for use in a classroom environment.

Participants will learn how to manage student learning through feedback and assessment, along with grading discussions. Participants will also learn about best practices for using discussion forums to engage learners.
Wednesday 8/18: Zoom Dashboard Tools with Charlie Bombard and Sarah Chambers

This session will cover the different dashboard tools inside the Zoom client. Participants will learn how to share their screen effectively, change their display, assign co-hosts and use the reactions!

Microsoft Teams is a collaboration and productivity tool that is available to all faculty and staff. This session will cover the basics of Teams, including the chat, file sharing, and project management capabilities. With a myriad of additional plug-ins available, Teams can quickly become a centerpiece of your office workflow—join us to learn more, and bring your questions!
Friday 8/20: YuJa and Canvas Integration with TBD

This session will cover the different ways you can integrate YuJa videos into Canvas. Participants will learn how to integrate YuJa videos into assignments, pages, and discussions. Users will also learn how to share videos to a course channel to allow for easy access for student learners.

Monday 8/9: Introduction to YuJa (our video hosting resource) with Sarah Corrow

This session will introduce you to the basics of YuJa, include how to log in, download the software, create recordings, and upload videos. Participants will also learn how to share videos and export voice-over PowerPoints for sharing.
Wednesday 8/11: Introduction to Canvas with Amy Beattie

This session will introduce you to the general layout of Canvas, including the navigation menu, modules, assignments, and discussions. Participants will get a general sense of the different module items and receive a general sense of how to create and grade assignments. Additionally, some of the other Canvas features, like Inbox and Announcements, will be covered. The session will include best practices for course design and setup.
Wednesday 8/11: Canvas Gradebook with Amy Beattie

This session will cover how to set up your gradebook in Canvas, including how to weight assignment groups. The basics of SpeedGrader, for grading papers, and other grading tips will be included. Participants will learn how to adjust the settings in gradebook, and how to manually release grades. Finally, some of the tools within gradebook that can help students stay on task, including messaging, will be covered.
Thursday, 8/12: Introduction to Office 365 with Matthew Corriere

This session will introduce you to the wonderful world of Office 365 – it’s more than just email! Learn about how to access O365, your OneDrive, how to access Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. You’ll learn about some of the resources available to you and your students! File sharing, collaborating on documents – all the fun things! Finally, you will learn how to install office 365 apps on your computer.
Friday, 8/13: Introduction to Zoom with TBD

This session will cover the basics of Zoom, including how to sign in, download, and the different ways to access your Zoom account. Learn how to set up a meeting in the app, how to set up class meetings, and set your personal meeting ID. Finally, users will learn about some of the important meeting settings.
